You have to pry the rear spring plates over the stop on the torsion housing to unload them Once you do that, some PB and a rubber mallet from behind should pop them right off. Use a Pry bar to VERY carefully work the spring plate over the pivot stop on the housing (it'll go downwards.) Before you do this scribe a reference line on the torsion housing of the spring plate location so you know where it was initially (and where you need to sit it when you put it back in).

For fronts, make sure the grub screws are backed off in the center of the beam and you should be able to knock the leaf pack out pretty easily once the trailing arms are off. Again, I'd use a rubber mallet fo rthis.

put a jack under the spring plate, You do not want it to unload on you when you pop it over the stop.

make sure you got the grub screw out, and then soak it withe pb or penetrating oil. Should pop right off. You may have to disassemble the spindle first.

I'd like to help but at this point I'm kida confused about what you are doing. I think that you are trying to take the front trailing arms off to replace the ball joints. If this it true then you need to remove the "grub" screw on each of the trailing arm and they should pull loose. AZBAJA was saying that he had to wrap a come-a-long around the arm and attach it to a sturdy anchor point (like a pole or another vehicle to get his to pull loose. This can be a real bitch. Sorry about that.

Heat em up with a torch, PB blaster the hell out of them, soak them over night, etc. They'll come loose eventually.

Your other option's to pull the whole beam out and see if you can get better leverage.
