i just finished replacing the wires for my headlights along with the fuse block. now i don't have turn signals headlights tail lights and my brake lights blink when i hit the brakes (that problem has been going on for a couple of weeks. i put in new lights and they worked perfect then stayed on ) any onw bought the $50 harness from chirco?? is it complete enough for a street legal baja??

Quite obviously have something wired the wrong way... or not at all.


A lot more information is going to need to be givin to receive ANY help...

This is a hard one for others to trouble shoot not being at the vehicle.

Follow your wires I guess and think logically.

Check your ground.
A couple of weeks ago my left front signal turned on when breaking.
The grounding on the left rear was bad.
Mostly strange things happening to the electrical system is caused by bad grounding.

ABSOFRICKENLOUTLY, check those grounds. I've seen that a lot with trailers where the ground was "iffy" and cause a merriad of problems.
Also, after careful study of the schematic, VW relied on body grounding a lot to save on copper back in dim days. With the age creeping up on these cars, I imagine those groung points are getting a bit fatigued.
I don't know what the $50 harness from Chirco will get ya but I went for the whole enchilada 'cause I don't want to be patching 40+ year old wire.
