Well, I think when I get my Camaro sold, it is time for phase 1 suspension upgrade.
I have decided on an 8" wider Warrior beam w/ 10" shock towers.
I get the general idea regarding the requirements, but I have a few questions.
Here is my parts list so far:
-Beam 8" over (Why 8 and not 6? why not? LOL)
-New torsion leaves (or can I reuse my old ones - are the adjusters stock length from the shock towers?)
-Shocks
-steering rack (Can I use my stock box, or should I upgrade? What are the pros and cons?)
-Longer tie rods with upgraded (Ford) rod ends.
My spindles are already gusseted, I plan on a shock mount and gusset kit for the trailing arms.
I will need to also build a bumper/skid plate and so on while I'm at it.
I doubt I will get this all done before I have to go out of town for a military school, but I will be accumulating parts while I'm gone, and shipping them to the house.
Any thoughts? I know Don at Chirco offered to help me out with tips on avoiding bump steer. I want to do this right.
After that come the 3x3 rears.
Jeff

If you use a warrior beam you will need to buy another set of torsion leaves and cut them down.
Yes you can use your stock steering box, but you will need to gusset the steering arms on the sppindles and the pitman arm when you drill them out for larger tie rod ends.

Shameless plug
If you buy a bugzyla beam you dont have to buy another set of torsion leaves, you just cut your stock ones in half and re-index drill them.
Only $250 for an 8" beam with any length towers you want.

I'm in the middle of a +6" Warrior beam install, with longer front arms (+1" each side in width, so I'll be stock+8" width-wise overall up front), and I'm already concerned that my front track is going to be wider than my rear with my 3x3's. If I was you, I'd make sure the +8 isn't going to put you wider out front than rear, especially if, down the road, you want to put longer front arms on for more front travel.
Something else I never considered about longer/wider arms all the way around is your agility and maneuverability in the tight spots in the desert. There are DEFINITELY times when the added width is more a hindrance than an asset.
Something to think about...

Ditch settled on a +6 beam. He picked up a beam that was built from two beams, each cut 2" off center, totalling 4". He brought it to me to have it widened an additional 2".
6" Is a good basis, if wider is needed, the tweed arms could give additional width.
