I live in Michigan and it get cold and muddy. so to make the rail more comfortable. I have been debating enclosing the front and sides of my rail, but because of the winch and light mounts I wouldn't be able to use a premade fiberglass shell. I was looking in to fabricating a aluminum or other metals to wrap the hood and sides. I have seen this done before on several rails and really liked the look. Here are a couple of pics of what I was thinking.

If you have any suggestions or even a how to that would be super helpful, I was hoping to keep the hood moveable/removable to keep access to pedals, etc. Maybe hinges or such.

I will see if I can get an new photo to show you some of the obstacles

A funny thing to do is, if you're out hiking and your friend gets bitten by a poisonous snake, tell him you're going to go for help, then go about ten feet and pretend that *you* got bit by a snake. Then start an argument with him about who's going to go get help. A lot of guys will start crying. That's why it makes you feel good when you tell them it was just a joke.

PM Leatherneck, he made his own body out of some sheet material. He will have some insight for you.

You can put the wall at the Master Cylinder and leave where the winch and lights are open. Thin aluminium is easy to shape with a section of pipe and wooden hammers. Without fenders your going to get mudded. I bought a cheap $50 motorcycle Frog Togg suit which is wind and waterproof.

I was looking at this upgrade in order make it a bettter ride for my gal, Less mud/water/wind. But upon asking my girl if she liked the the idea she said she prefered the way mine looked better. but i still might do it in the future.

I have used those rain suits in the past and they are a huge help, not only keeping stuff off you but also it keeps the wind from cutting right through you much like a motorcycle.
