Would these be better than the single 40mm Weber I currently have on my 1776?

I personally think so, but I'm a little biased. Ask around a bit.

What size motor can these be used on? I was thinking of doing a 2110-2276 if I stay VW and don't swap in an Ecotec.

If you're going to go that size, these are not for you. Depending on your final size, head, and cam selection, I would recommend something like dual 44 IDF's. I did meet a guy that runs a 2180 with an Engle 100, stock heads, and a 34 PICT and swears by it. It's a torque monster, but it's not good for much else. I run a 2187, FK8, modified 044's with 42x37.5's, and 1:4's, and 33" tires in mine. I've never met a hill I couldn't climb, and sometimes I think my car would even run upside-down under water. It can also run wide open really nicely and I wouldn't change a thing.

The dual Kadron carbs I really specialize in are for engines smaller than 2 liters. They line up well with "performance on a budget", and in my opinion, you can't find a better combo: Easy to install, reliable, and good power for the dollar. All those guys who can't synch Kaddies are doing something seriously wrong. These are a piece of cake and much more reliable than my high-dollar Webers.
