I was wondering if any has replaced glass with plexiglass in a baja bug and if it would be a good idea or bad? Front and rear glass for example.

I run a plexi front window and have for years but, my baja isnt street legal.
The only problem is it tends to scratch.

Plexi and Lexan are both soft and not scratch resistant. A couple swipes of the windshield wipers and they're toast. You can scratch either one with paper towels.

New glass windshields, while normally very good quality, are cheap, DOT approved, and you can easily trim them if needed and install yourself.

Saftey glass would be safer than plexiglass or lexan.

I had lexan in my drag car too, even with the special lexan cleaner you can buy the lexan still gets scratched VERY easy, even if you buy the supposed scratch resistant lexan. Plexi is a no no, if it gets hit it will explode. Just stick with factory glass, a new windshield is only $50 at BAP.
