Picked up a set of 10" Fox Rezzys today, also grabbed a complete rear set of type 3 brakes and a pair of almost new front 15x6 white spoke wide 5.

Got it all for $200 bux, now I just need a set of rear 15x8's and Im ready to start putting parts together.

I talked to Daryll today, he has the 3x3's almost finished and waiting on the tubing for the front arms, but within the next couple weeks I should have my front and rear arms. Getting the itch to start building.

The shocks I picked up are in great shape, just rebuilt and recharged but they are painted black. Any tips on cleaning them up? The bodies are aluminum right? I wire wheeled the paint off but they metal itself isnt as purdy as I expected.

If there aluminum you can progressively sand and polish until you get the shine you like. I did my Harley like that quite a few years ago and hand sanded and polished every thing that was aluminum. It was a labor of love but the outcome was worth it.

Finally had some more time to pull the car apart. Got most of the pan tore down (just the rear left to go, but Im waiting for my arms to come in for that)

Just finished some minor rust treatments, but should be ready to coat it with bedliner - once i remove the seat mounts of course.

Corrected picture size.

Picked up 10' of 2" DOM .120 wall tubing to build my beam. Also picked up the adjusters and bushings to complete the front. I should be picking up my parts from Daryl next Sunday (26th) - cant wait.

Decided to go with .120 wall 1.5" Mild steel for the full chassis. I thought about going DOM, but man the price on that is nearly 3x mild steel.

Anyway, getting closer, hoping to have a complete rolling base frame in a few weeks - still need a set of 15x8 wide 5 rear wheels Smile

Heading to Phoenix tomorrow to pick up my front arms and 3x3's from Daryll. Also, ordering my race-prepped 930 kit (axles, CV's bearings, stubs and flanges) today - going through Jeff at The Kaddie Shack

Cant wait to start putting things together

Well, went over and picked up my bender from my friend who was storing it Confused I wish he would have told me they left it outside, now I have a ton of surface rust to take care of - Gonna be pissed if I have to replace all my dies...

My side project this next week is to build a base/cart for the bender. I cant mount it to my garage (post tension), but I want to build a dual purpose cart. It will be a great place to hold the bender and dies while still being mobile - and ad an attachment so I can insert it to a hitch of a truck to secure it. The second plan is to pick up the HF air over hydraulic and convert this to a slowpoke hydraulic bender - found this killer adapter I might spring for:

http://www.swagoffroad.com/Tubing_Bender_Air_Hydraulic_Mount.html

Im itching to get started on the fabrication aspects of this build, I figure building this will hold me over while I wait for my 930 conversion kit to arrive and get my order of 1.5" .120 tubing.

Till next time...

Finished the pan prep today and hit it with some cheap spray on beadliner:

Also mocked up the rear 3x3's I picked up from Daryll:

Once the 930 conversion kit arrives, Ill mock the rear up completely. Hoping to build the beam this weekend too, but wont be able to hang it until I start the chassis.

More to come...

Got the beam mocked up, 6 Over with adjusters set to use a single set of LP torsions cut in half.

Tacked and waiting for final assembly:

Also, I have my 930 Conversion sitting here waiting for install, just havent had time to put it together Sad

School starts soon for me, so things will slow down even more, but I am finally to the point where I have all the parts I need to finish the suspension and get to a rolling chassis point.
