The first band doesn't matter it only needs to be a 90

then mark on the ground where the die begins.. And then work your way around the project marking each bend where the die begins.

If you really need to be precise you will need the lock the two in place to keep it from being pulled through the Bender as you bend a simple clamp will do the trick.

Continue to mark each bend in the direction that you will be bending it until you complete each mark.

After each bend lathe the project back down on the drawing and mark where the die begins on the tubing so that you can line it up while it's in the Bender.

Slick and straightforward.
The guy I worked for back in high school used this technique. I adopted a center-out method later on and still use that because it just makes more sense to me and I prefer to do the layout in my head... You know what they say, measure once, cut twice Confused

This is not a homemade Bender it is a very old hossfield Bender. It has been extensively modified so that it will make a bend over 180°.... On that note anything over 180° I have to pound off the die... The hydraulics were added the way that they are is because the previous owner did not like the way Hossfield hydraulics worked.
