Sipped on a Sam Adams White Ale, cut out the (took another sip) rusted passenger side heater (another sip) channel. Finished Sam Adams. Contemplated my next move when the new channel arrives. Got another Sam Adams. Contemplated some more. Got depressed, moved up to gin martinni.

Mapping out my next move. The rear suspension. I think I will go with a bus trans with redux boxes because I can get one cheap and for the time being I have a swing axle. I may be able to get it on the road this year and enjoy it. Mufasa

Put on manifold heat riser tubes, throttle cable, couple other things I can't remember.
Turned it over till carb had gas, pumped the throttle a couple times.
Fired it up.
Well that went well....I hope.
Tomorrow finish up and adjust carb.

Washed the inside & outside, vacuumed up the broken glass & tree leaves. Took the hood off, filled the brake resevoir (still no brakes...). measured to see if the tank will fit between the roll bar supports under the hood, took the back seat out & cleaned out a ton of more leaves. Ran the battery dead by forgetting to turn of the ign switch.
(That Sam Adams a few posts ago sure would taste good right about now....)

Bought some more parts and got lucky and got a parts bug. the best part it is free. Here in the midwest we don't have many vw running around. In fact its been years since I have seen one on the road. Later Mufasa

forgive this stupid question(And lack of proper name),but is that to mount a rack and pinion onto a stock Bug frame horn/beam?
added sometime later:
Finished bolting the rest of stuff onto the Bug,then did yard work.
Saw my neighbor drive up,so I went over and gave him the weber conversion I'd boxed up.
Told him: "You can have it,but didn't know if that would be considerd a boon or a curse.":P

I was only about a minute behind! I was the only VW powered car there!!! My "competion" was a 300+hp rail with a full suspension and it was for sale for $24000!!! He was a nice guy. Still it was the most fun I've had in my Baja EVER!!! Even with my seat braking half way through the first lap!!! I had to drive by pilling against the streering wheel for the rest of the race!!!
I was also interview by Motorsports Mainia on Fox Sports Net!!!
There was NO damage to my car except for the seat cam going out and laying my seat back. So that excuse is out the window for the rest of you guys.
I'll be racing again in October, will you?
