So I found a receipt for the engine work that a shop had done and it says it's got 94mm Pistons and the block was clearanced to be a stroker engine.

It may warrant a little more teardown after all.

I replaced the starter and re-installed the driver's seat.

reinstalled my pedals with a new clutch cable on the 6911 car always a fun project solo. after an hour of effort I got it done only to have the spring on the throwout arm snap. better in the garage than in the boonies

Installed electric power steering, tired of fighting 33" tires on 4" over arms.

Hi everyone! After procrastinating for years (17!), my '61 is alive and kicking again! Working on her since August '17, she has been painted her original Ruby Red, had the transaxle rebuilt, fresh 1915cc power plant built, new PRP front and rear seats installed, added 3 new rear lap belts & front RJS 5 point harnesses, new battery, starter, new wheels and tires, modified the rear bumper cage with a tow receiver, new door panels and arm rests, new window rubber with trim inserts, new windshield, added a custom headliner (tan indoor/outdoor carpet, installed new stereo with custom front speaker kickpanels and rear panels over wheel wells, and built a custom front bumper with skid plate design finished and ready to be made. *out of breath* I've been outside so much my wife and baby daughter barely recognize me anymore! Let's hit the dirt!

Hey guys & gals. I've been gone for a while. Last spring I was heading over to my father in laws (just 5 miles away) and the most unexpected thing happened. The engine caught fire. I had no extinguisher either. It was one of those "I'll get one soon". Really did a lot of damage before I could put it out.
Anyway, it sat in my garage for nearly a year before I gained enough courage to assess the damage & get going on restoration.
So over the last few weekends that's what I've been doing to my baja. Tearing down the motor, removing cooked wiring, removing windows, headliner and so on. Oh, the flames burned through the rear window seal enough to catch the headliner aflame as well so that's why the windows & headliner were removed.
Farmington is coming up in a few weeks so I'm looking forward to that for incentive and deals on parts. Wink
