Well I posted here a little while ago asking about a bug, I passed that one up in hopes of something better. I found this one on Craigslist yesterday and got him to email me pics.

1970 Volkswagon Beetle. THIS IS A RESTORATION CAR! I bought this cutie off a friend last year seeing the promise in it. However, I really don't have the time now. I have the manual to go with it. We took out the seats and started to go at it, including some sanding work. It ran when I first got it, but after not starting it, there seems to be some problems. Problems include a fuel leak of some sort, and a loose stick. Manual drive. New tires. Custom hood, but it's torn a little and also warped. Some work is needed on the fiber glass. Plenty more to talk about. I ALSO BOUGHT A COMPLETELY NEW WIRING HARNESS KIT! SOLD SEPARATELY FOR $250.

We got a good amount of rust off of it, but there's definately some more left. I thought it wouldn't start, but someone came by and he got it to. I haven't heard from him for a few days, so it's up for grabs still. Gimme a call if you wanna come by and look at it for yourself.










Think it would be a good project car for $450? Maybe less. I've been watching the market around here for Baja's. Most Bugs that come running and with Baja parts go for around $3k Plus.

dude grab it. you wont find an engine that is worth a damn for that price. getting the entire car would be a great deal. wouldnt take much work at all to get it going even if the pans are rusted out you can replace them real easy.

I think you can get a harness for less than the $250 though- I THINK. The car looks good for that kinda dough.

Aight thanks for the responses! I'm going to try and go look at it tomorrow, and maybe get it.
Forgot to mention, sounds like the Transmission is probably trash. How much do used ones usually run?

trannys arent to big of a deal but you can get them cheap
