Hey all-
when full the stock tank is leaking out the top where the sender goes in... bought a new gasket... went to replace it and found two gaskets aready there, glued together... thought to myself 'well thats the reason, this should solve it'.... of couse with the new single gasket it leaks slightly worse... had to drive around aimlessly to get rid of some gas so my garage wont blow up if i hit the door opener...

How have yall fixed this??

-Brett

I got a new rubber gasket from Chirco's, seemed to work just fine without any sealant or anything. Have you checked the mating surfaces of the tank and sender for irregularities, dirt, etc? Also make sure you tighten the sender in a criss cross pattern like you do with your lugnuts, and try to torque them all evenly.

Kyle

I think that there is 2 types of senders and gas tanks. Look and make sure you sender does not have the rolled over edge. If it does it might be hitting the tank before the prsure is put on the gasket. That is why it has a double gasket vs. a single to make sure the edge of the sender is not hitting the top of the tank.

I did not notice any contamination or bent sealing surfaces.... and I did criss cross the tightening... havent checked for the 'interference' of parts...

got down to 3/4 tank and will look into it...

thanks for the ideas...
-Brett
