hey guys, nice site. i dont have a bug yet, and my only experience with vw was my dads rail he built when i was in grade skool, and the 91 golf i bought after i graduated high skool. im a car guy who has gone thru several phases... 4x4 minitrucks, mustangs, civics, chevy C-10's, a few cummins, im now at the end of the road with my 1st gen chevyII. i really want a baja now. ive come to this conclusion after reading a lot on another site ryhmes with bamba, but i found your site last week (i really like the atmosphere here, i hope its ok im not in AZ) and have read a little here and there, and baja is the direction i want to go. so the hunt is on. i have used all my rides, basically, as my primary ride back and forth to work and this one will be the same, with weekend duty going down usfs dirt roads and such, maybe some camping with the wife. so anyways, ill hang out and catch up on some reading till i score a baja, then i'll update and get some pics up. i have one in my sights, im trying to work a trade with my 64 nova........ Very Happy

Welcome aboard Rocky! Since you don't have baja pictures to share with us yet, I guess pics of the Nova will do for now Laughing
Good luck in the hunt for a baja!

Looks nice! I have always had a thing for the ChevyII. I am not a huge Chevy man and usually prefer Ford, but they have always appealed to me for some reason.

im getting some pics of the baja im considering trading for. pics should be here on saturday. its a 64 model year. it has a drab green paint job with some fairly big tires, 30" front and back, and the owner seems to have done a bit of work on it over the last few years, mostly for reliability i think. it has a 1600cc i think, maybe not. and 1 valve cover leaks, he says. heater booster fan.

well let me cut and paste...

"64 baja new floor pans and heater channels new carpet new headliner sound proofing 12v flamethrower elect ignition new 009 dist window seals new 12v alternator new coil wires plugs new hd oil pump screw on filter 30 " military tires runs perfect drives great no rust quiet inside many more new parts exel car .also has heater booster fan very reliable int pic was taken befor new carpet and sound proofing went in and door panels changed to black now it also has new steering damper and aftermarket steering wheel new battery and new window scrapers if i hadnt got laid off i would never sell this car (ever) this car is not a rattle trap even on rough road i have never had it off road(shamefull i know) i also have 2 webbers i could throw in if price or trade is right and many other parts i have collected the reason i dropped the price from 3200 is i didn't install the headliner or window seals now the bad the valve covers seep a little oil and shifter bushing is a little worn the engine ,drivetraine, and steering are all tight just bump the key and it fires right up every time freezing out or hot-and you can't beat 40 MPG"

im fairly excited Laughing

i expect to have to work on this on occasion. and i wont get my feelings hurt if i have issues on a regular basis... i like wrenching Cool

Welcome to the site. Nice looking Chevy II.
The seller is blowing smoke about the 40 mpg. What else about the Baja is he blowing smoke about? Without close ratio 3/4 gearing the 1600 is going to wear itself out turning 30" tires.
